The #HauteSquad Resolves To Stick By Their Resolutions In 2017

The team is back at the HQ, with new-found enthusiasm and fervour. The #HauteSquad had a lovely mini vacation that eventually made us realise how much we love what we do. Marching into 2017 to bring you some kickass content, amazing videos, and basically the haute-est trends of the season.

And since it is the season of resolutions, how can we not share ours with you. Scroll down to see what your favourite team expects from this year and we’ll let you know in a few months whether or not we were able to keep them! *fingers crossed*

“I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I didn’t become a better person! I mean… My new year resolution for 2017 is to open a gym called Resolutions. It will have exercise equipment for one month, after which it will turn into a bar for the remaining 11 months. I think it’s fair play, no?!”
~ Zahra Khan, Editor-in-Chief

“2016 is over! *happy dance* For me, 2017 marks big changes, and I’m going to make the most of them. I want to try something new every month — a new fitness routine; a new cuisine; meeting new people; trying new positions…of yoga, of course! Things are about to get wild.”
~ Baishali Chatterjee, Managing Editor

“It’s cliched AF, but that doesn’t stop me from having a resolution. I’d really like to drop a couple of inches from my waistline to fit into my 26-inch Levi’s that’s been sitting morosely in my closet for the past 5 years. Also, who said two’s good enough? I’d like to welcome a third puppy into my household. #Win”

“2017 is going to be all about channeling my inner Grace Kelly and being poised AF. Although I’m tall, I tend to look WAYYY shorter due to my pronounced slouch, something that I totes need to get rid of. So guess who is going to be walking around the office with a tome on her head?”
~ Farozan Dossani, Social Media Manager

“My NY’s resolution would have to be to actually go through with my resolution. I mean, every year, I think ‘Damn right! I’m sticking to my New Year’s resolution of partying less’, but does that actually happen? Nope. So yeah, if I’m being really honest, this year I promise myself to follow my resolution through the whole year!”
~ Snehal Fernandes, Head Of Video Content

“I want this year to be one that I do more. I’m forever the dreamer and never the doer. For years, I have hoarded ideas about projects I want to undertake and skills I want to acquire, but all my ideas have stayed ideas…till now. My resolution this year is to act on the ideas that I have nurtured — flesh out my book idea, learn Spanish or Italian, get certified in English so that I can teach abroad, and possibly the most courageous thing — to take a chance on love again. Let’s hope it works out.”
~ Alisha Fernandes, Features Editor, AskMen India

“My resolution would be to be less of an awkward turtle around new people! I am probably one of the most socially awkward people you’d ever meet — I get squirmy, say the wrong things and then try to hide away in my shell. So this year I am going to try not to break into an awkward dance when I am put in such situations. Hopefully, I will stick by it this year!”
~ Tatiana Dias, Fashion & Beauty Writer

“I have around 42 diaries (yes, I know the count), but some are blank and others, half filled. This year, I want to actually get into the habit of writing a diary. Be it my travel expeditions or the happy moments of my daily life, anything which, when I read at the end of the year, makes me happy and assures me that the year was not all that bad.”
~ Japleen Kaur, Lifestyle Writer

“All my peeps have been complaining that I do not return phone calls or reply to texts (sometimes). So, to ensure that my friends don’t give up on me and maybe, love me a little, I am going to put in extra efforts to communicate efficiently. And if my friends are reading this, don’t be surprised if you get a lot of kiss emojis from me in 2017. :)”

“I wanna make better jokes in 2017. See, now, whenever I throw my sarcasm at people, 7 out of 10 only show 50% of their teeth, and my research says that to reach a set target this year, I should be able to get them to show a minimum of 80% of their teeth. You get what I mean, right?”
~ Mansi Chouksey, Graphic Designer

“My New Year’s Resolution is to maintain my wardrobe and keep my stuff well organised every day…and not only once a week! It is a difficult task, you know?”
~ Pranita Sawant, Graphic Designer, AskMen India

“2016 was tough and it literally drained all my energy, so I will use this year as an excuse to pamper myself to the fullest. Spa treatments, expensive bags, weekend getaways, you name it and I will do it.”
~ Divya Wable, Graphic Designer, Hauterfly

“I’ve always been able to achieve anything I put my head to…except waking up early in the morning. And by early, I mean 7 or 8 am, and not some obscene 5 or 6 am.  But no matter what I do — write personal inspirational notes to myself or chide myself or even turn in super early the night before — I just can’t manage to get out of bed unless it’s really, really important. Like catching a flight. Because air tickets are effing expensive. My new year’s resolution is to try and get out of bed before 8 am, please. Instead of the usual 10-11 am.”
