Taapsee Pannu’s Response To Anurag Kashyap Takes A Cheeky Dig At Bollywood’s Awards And Their Fairness

Taapsee Pannu’s Response To Anurag Kashyap Takes A Cheeky Dig At Bollywood’s Awards And Their Fairness

It was actor-turned-author, Twinkle Khanna who first shared a picture from her school days on Twitter to create awareness and promote woman’s education in the country. Following the same challenge, actress Taapsee Pannu also shared a picture of her during her school times and in the picture we see young Taapsee, smiling with pride on the podium after having secured the first place at a sports event. Taapsee Pannu’s Manmarziyaan director and co-star, Anurag Kashyap and Vicky Kaushal’s hilarious comments on her picture had us amused but something else has also caught our attention and it got us thinking!

Taapsee Pannu joined the same cause to make a her voice heard in the Why The Gap? campaign. This is an initiative by Save the Children India aimed at promoting the cause of women’s education.  Sharing a picture of her standing at a podium, Taapsee wrote, “Sports have been an integral part of my life. School race tracks became my war zone every year and thanks to a supportive family and encouraging school teachers, I could have my moment of glory. Unfortunately many kids don’t have that support system. #WhyTheGap.”

We all know that Taapsee Pannu loves sports and she also has her own team at the Badminton Premier League. Coming back to the post, the actresses’ director and close friend, Anurag Kashyap hilariously trolled her and wrote, “Chalo koi award toh mila“. Taapsee showed her savage side and commented, “Hahaha. School-college sab theek tha, life mein uske baad the competitions became TOO FAIR,” Now this got us thinking over the controversial topic of awards shows being sold out in the glamour world!

Taapsee Pannu character, Rumi in Manmarziyaan was super relatable and appreciated. However, the role didn’t even get a passing mention at any of the award functions that year. There’s no denying that the Mulk actress kept audience engaged throughout the film with her acting and it would certainly rile her up that she didn’t even get nominated for her role.

Vicky Kaushal use this opportunity to pull the curly-haired actresses’ leg and commented, “Pakka do chaar ko dhakka zaroor maara hoga.” To which Taapsee replied, “Ji nahi! I am a very fair player! Look at that innocent face!”
