Taapsee Pannu Didn’t Have To Use An App To Look Older Because She’s Actually Playing A Character Like That

A lot of things, interesting and questionable, go viral on the Internet these days. We recently saw the #SareeTwitter trend going crazy and most women, including several celebrities and politicians jumped on to the trend by sharing a picture of them draped in a saree. Another viral trend that is taking the Internet with storm is the the Face App filter which, for some entirely inexplicable reason, excited people. Everyone is putting up pictures of themselves looking several years older. Yes, this serves no purpose. And yes, everyone is doing it.

Recently,  Taapsee Pannu, who plays the character of Chandro Tomar in her upcoming film, Saand Ki Aankh also joined the bandwagon but not in the way you would imagine. The 31-year-old actor shared her aged look from the film and remarked that the picture is real and not from the most talked-about app that her other celebrity friends have got their hands on. Taking a dig at celebrities using the ‘Face App’  Taapsee captioned the picture, “And NO THIS IS NOT FROM THE APP Everyone is going crazy about.” In the picture, she can be seen in her character, posing well with a gun and a machine.

Taapsee has been on a roll. The actress recently mocked Rangoli Chandel and pulled Varun Dhawan’s leg for not mentioning the ‘lead actor’s’ name in his Saand Ki Aankh appreciation tweet. Many of the Bollywood celebrities these days have jumped on this ‘how I would look when I am old but also a pretty version of me’ bandwagon by sharing their aged look and making full use of the app to post pictures on social media. ‘Old’ versions of Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor have garnered thousands of likes on Instagram, and some might even say they looked hotter in it.

The Face App adds extra pounds, wrinkles and gray hair to selfies. It’s hyper-realistic effect is creating a huge buzz. And, of course, everyone is tempted to try it out and share the results. The Pink actor didn’t have to resort to this, she along with Bhumi Pednekar will portray the role of two octogenarian women from UP who took up sharpshooting in their 50s.
