That Time Of The Month Got You Going ‘Haye Garmi’? 6 Tips To Manage Your Periods This Summer

Summer ki garmi has our heads spinning already. But TBH men have it easier, at least they don’t have to deal with periods during the chubhti jalti garmi. Mausam jo bhi ho, we girls always have to deal with the usual PMS symptoms every single month and the summer really just makes it much worse. The rising temperature not only takes a toll on our bodies but the sweat cause so much more dampness, irritation and rashes down there, making our lady parts suffer. Now add to this scene all the fatigue and acne which tends to get aggravated in the summer heat. And let’s not even talk about all the extra stress and bloating. But fret not, ladies. We’ve got some easy solutions to have a mess and hassle-free period when the mausam becomes your enemy.

1. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

Water is the best thing that can happen to us girls on our periods during the summer heat. Hydrating properly will aid your digestive system and reduce bloating as well as cramps, gas and constipation while helping you beat the heat. You can also have coconut water to hydrate better.

2. Pick The Right Clothes

From the fabric to the silhouette you pick makes a huge difference when you’re on your period when the temperature is rising. Remember to pick a summer friendly fabric. Wear comfortable and preferably flowly clothes as opposed to tight-fitted clothes.

3. Carry Back Up Period Products ALWAYS

Period rash and dampness are common due to the heat and while I’d say the best way to deal with it is to wear a tampon or a menstrual cup but I also understand that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. And if you’re a pad user, I’d say use a cotton reusable pad. But even if you don’t remember to carry extra pads for when you want to get rid of your sweat soaked pad. Remember to change your pad every 4 hours during the summer season.

4. Steer Clear Of Salty Snacks

I totally get period cravings but if you’re craving salty food, hold that thought. This is not the season to snack on chips or anything salty for that matter. Salty foods will not only make you feel more garmi but they’ll also increase bloating and make things worse. So, steer clear of salty snacks ladies.

5. Keep The Vajajay Clean

Always carry an intimate wash with you. Summer is also the chaffing season and it’s not like we can use any other product when we’re wearing a pad. So, the best way to reduce sweat and chaffing is to keep it clean down there. You can clean your vagina with an intimate wash or simply with water or intimate wipes from time to time to keep feeling fresh.

6. Rest Up

The summer heat tends to drain us all and so periods. Don’t extert yourself too much during this season when you’re on your periods. Try to rest as much as possible but that doesn’t mean that you turn into a sloth. Make sure to do a little bit of work out to keep yourself active and healthy. FYI, exercise helps with period cramps too!

Hoping y’all have a happy and mess-free period this summer!
