Study Reveals Women’s Bones Change Permanently After Childbirth. Our Baby Fever Is Gone

When talking about pregnancy, people always think that it is the easiest thing in the world and that a woman should be grateful that she is getting an opportunity to bring a new life into this world. I mean, we are not saying that pregnancy isn’t a wonderful experience but why does nobody talk about the pain a woman has to go through during childbirth? Well, a team of anthropologists recently discovered a shocking fact about childbirth. A new study revealed that the bones of females change permanently after childbirth.

The team of anthropologists discovered that childbirth can permanently change the bones of females in ways that were previously not known. The revelation is based on primatological research, and it gives fresh light on how giving birth might permanently alter the woman’s body.

Paola Cerrito, who led the research as a doctoral student in New York University’s Department of Anthropology and College of Dentistry mentioned that the findings of the study provide additional evidence of the profound impact that reproduction has on the organism of the female. It further demonstrates that the skeleton is not a static organ, but a dynamic one that changes with life events.

Paola Cerrito said that the research shows that the skeleton responds dynamically to changes in reproductive status even before the cessation of fertility. Cerrito also added that the findings reaffirm the significant impact giving birth has on a female organism and also mentioned that the evidence of reproduction is ‘written in the bones’ for life’ (quite literally).
