Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Stop The War Trends On Twitter, Netizens Call Politicians Out
One of the most jarring pieces of news we got was that Russia had declared war on Ukraine and has started attacking Ukraine. While I earlier talked about all the memes about this topic, I do understand and recognize how catastrophic the situation at hand is. Many have come together on Twitter and the hashtag Stop The War is trending as many oppose the devastation of something this destructive. And while the memes did get a few chuckles out of me, I do agree with the tweeples who are trying to spread the message of love and peace by using the hashtag stop the war,

When I was still in college, we studied a lot about world history and focused upon the literature around WWII and I cannot tell you how jarring it was. While most of us are lucky enough to have lived lives of comfort, we cannot begin to imagine how horrible the atrocities of war are. There is so much more to WWII than what we know of as laymen. And hence, I do not blame these people for wanting to stop the war. Because at the end of the day, all this will do is claim innocent lives who did not deserve the pain and suffering this catastrophe is bound to bring.
