WATCH: West Bengal’s New Tourism Ad Is A Sight For Sore Eyes

Over the weekend, many of us added West Bengal on our travel lust list. And if you haven’t already, you will by the end of this article. The state released its new tourism ad and it as sweet as the people who reside there. Made by the big boss of advertising Ogilvy & Mather Kolkata, it brings out every emotion that the place wants to convey. The ad brings the state alive and you can literally feel it express itself through all the different sight, sounds, and colours that make it what it is.

It has a foreigner (major love for that pixie haircut!) exploring the streets and various locations of the state, being amazed by everything she sees. From the gorgeous valleys of Darjeeling, to the temples of Bishnupur, the traditional music, Mandarmani beach, to the iconic Howrah Bridge, the video is a treat for the eyes. Every part of Bengali culture is depicted beautifully, whether it’s the cuisine or the marriage rituals. It is a story that captures every moment and will make you want to book yourself a one-way ticket there STAT.

What will make you fall in love more is the surprise in the last 15 seconds of the video, when Shah Rukh Khan makes an appearance (he is the brand ambassador of the state) and serenades the tourist by singing an adorable Tagore song. The man can make you go weak in the knees just by flashing that adorbable smile we’ve come to know and love!

Shot by the production house Nirvana, who have previously created magic for other Incredible India! ads, this is a fantastic take on the state. If tourism ads are going to be this good, we hope this warmth can be reflected in reality too. Watch the video above and get ready to go awww!
