Ukrainian Woman Confronts Russian Soldier Amidst War By Offering Him Sunflower Seeds, Video Goes Viral
As someone who studied the literature and history around world war 2, I cannot even begin to imagine what it is like to live through a tragedy of that scale. After the discourse, we had regarding the Israelian attack on Palestine, the recent news of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has shaken us all up. Amidst all the news of the casualties of the attacks, a video of a Ukrainian woman standing up to a Russian soldier has gone viral and by god is it bone-chilling.
A Ukrainian woman is being hailed for her bravery as she confronted a Russian soldier who was heavily- armed. She then offered him sunflower seeds so that they may grow when he dies. The Ukrainian woman was caught on camera as she walked up to a heavily armed Russian soldier and confronted him for causing the devastation in Ukraine. The woman posted the video from her perspective too.

The woman voiced her outrage about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The woman can be seen walking up to the soldier and questioning him. She asked him who he was. The soldier then asks her to leave saying that they have “exercises” in the area.
The Ukrainian woman voiced her frustration and demanded, “So what the f*** are you doing here?” she then continued according to the Independent, “You’re occupants, you’re fascists! What the f*** are you doing on our land with all these guns?”

The woman then offers the soldiers sunflower seeds so that they can grow where he lies after his death. Sunflowers are the national flowers of Ukraine. The video has since gotten viral and the woman is being lauded for her bravery.
