#Roevwade Trends On Twitter As Many Talk About The Dangers Of Banning Abortions
For a while now there have been debates around abortion rights in the US. However, the landmark decision by the US Supreme Court called Roe v. Wade which states that the constitution safeguards women’s right to an abortion. However, there has been quite a bit of unrest after a leaked draft opinion indicated that the US Supreme court has decided to overturn the Roe v. Wade verdict and reinstate the right to make abortion laws to the states and their people. For the unversed, Roe v. Wade prohibited states from banning abortion. But if the prohibition is lifted, a lot of the Republican-led states’ women are at risk of their fundamental right over their bodies being taken away.
All this turmoil has come while the Met Gala was happening. However, there were a handful of people who had something to say about the dystopian nature of the wealthy going to a ball wearing lavish clothes while the general populace struggle to maintain basic rights. Here is what the tweeple had to say about the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
As I said, the dystopian nature is flabbergasting,
The craziest thing about the met gala outfits is the fact that the Supreme Court is literally overturning Roe v Wade as we speak

This sounds so brutal and horrifying,
My mother was a registered nurse in the years before Roe, and tells stories of women & girls being eviscerated, sterilized, and killed by back alley abortions.
By overturning Roe, #SCOTUS isn’t saving a single baby.
It is killing countless women & girls.#RoeVWade https://t.co/ho82zuvIMc

This is so accurate!
A reminder that the same lawmakers who say gun laws won't stop gun violence believe abortion laws will stop abortion. #RoeVWade

Completely agreed!
If you are upset that #RoeVWade is about to be overturned by the Supreme Court but you didn’t vote in 2016 or you voted for Trump because you didn’t like the smart lady, YOU did this w/your apathy or your decision to choose an imp for President. YOU gave him THREE SCOTUS seats.

Senator Bernie Sanders has also stood up for women!
Congress must pass legislation that codifies Roe v. Wade as the law of the land in this country NOW. And if there aren’t 60 votes in the Senate to do it, and there are not, we must end the filibuster to pass it with 50 votes.

This is so painfully true
The Supreme Court overturning Roe V. Wade while the whole country is distracted by an inconsequential event celebrating extreme wealth is, unfortunately, the most symbolic representation of America rn

Former President Obama has also released a statement talking about the overturning of Roe v. Wade

Senator Elizabeth Warren has also been vocal regarding her anger about the overturning of Roe v. Wade
I am angry because an extremist Supreme Court thinks they can impose their extremist views on all of the women of this country and they are wrong.
I have seen the world where abortion is illegal. We’re not going back—not now, not ever. pic.twitter.com/5lE8rCQz5U

An extremist Supreme Court is poised to overturn #RoeVWade and impose its far-right, unpopular views on the entire country. It's time for the millions who support the Constitution and abortion rights to stand up and make their voices heard. We're not going back—not ever.
— Elizabeth Warren (@SenWarren) May 3, 2022
If an extremist Supreme Court overturns Roe, wealthy women will still get safe abortions — by traveling to another state or country. But women of color, those with lower-incomes, and victims of abuse will suffer the most.
Congress must eliminate the filibuster and protect Roe.

Sulu has also raised his voice and we are here for it!
Those motherf*****s really did it. First they came for Black voters, then they targeted LGBTQ+ families. Now, women of America, they’re overruling Roe v. Wade.
We have to unite and strike back. Take to the streets. Overwhelm them at the ballot box. They have gone too damn far.

With Roe V Wade being overturned we are putting so many young and poor people at risk. The foster-care system will flood even more, children will die of abuse & lack of resources, others will take their own lives. I can’t imagine the fear of an unwanted pregnancy with no way out.

Vice President Harris is giving us all hope!
Republican legislators in states across the country are weaponizing the use of Roe v. Wade against women.
The rights of all Americans are at risk. This is the time to fight for women and our country with everything we have.

I absolutely love how all these people anti-abortionists call themselves ‘pro-life’ when they are really not. People can get an abortion for various reasons and a lot of them are because the child will be born in very unfavourable conditions. How do they think a mother with no resources to raise a child and no option of getting an abortion takes care of all the financial responsibilities a kid comes with? Or how will a child be raised in a household where he/she was unwanted in the first place? And it isn’t like the U.S. foster care system is any prize too with millions of children without stability and basic resources entering every year. There will be abuse, malnutrition, mental and physical health issues and deaths. How is that pro-life in any shape or form?
