“I’m Incredibly Proud Of What My Parents-In-Law Built,” Says Rishi Sunak About Questions On Wife’s Family Wealth

However, Rishi Sunak is now winning hearts with his latest statement which will also break many stereotypical mindsets. For the unversed, Rishi Sunak is married to Sudha Murthy’s daughter, Akshata Murthy. The Prime Ministerial candidate is often posed with questions about his wife’s family wealth but this time Rishi gave it back with a firm and strong reply, that too during an ongoing TV debate.

Sudha Murthy and Narayana Murthy are the co-founders of Infosys and are one of the most successful power couples. Their son-in-law Rishi Sunak faced some questions regarding his wife’s family earnings and wealth, during the TV debate. To answer and clarify every doubt the media had, Rishi proudly spoke of his parents-in-law and stated his respect towards them in a very clear and firm way. As per reports, in the debate, Rishi was asked about Akshata Murthy voluntarily giving up her non-domicile status of paying taxes in the UK from her Indian income. In addition to this, the former Chancellor was also confronted about the status of his US Green Card.

In a response to all the questions, Rishi Sunak stated that he has always been a law-abiding citizen of the UK and has also paid his taxes. Talking about Akshata, Mr. Sunak added that since she is from another country, the treatment towards her has always been different, however, she also got her issues resolved. During the Sunday debate, Rishi further went on to confront the controversies surrounding his wife’s family wealth and stated that he is “incredibly proud” of what his parents-in-law have built. Elaborating on the same, Rishi Sunak further went on to say some amazing things about the Murthys. He added that Narayan Murthy had nothing in the beginning and just with savings of a few pounds given to him by his wife Sudha Murthy, he made one of the most respected and successful companies. Hitting back hard, Rishi Sunak also went on to say that the company is currently employing many people in the United Kingdom, as well. Rishi Sunak also said that if he becomes the UK Prime Minister, he shall want to build more stories inspired by that of his parents-in-law. In fact in the Sunday debate, Rishi Sunak emerged as the winner too, as per a report.
