Rakul Preet Talks About Her Role As A ‘Condom Tester’ In Her Upcoming Film. Says It Is Important To ‘Highlight Some Issues’
The year is 2021, feminism is not just a word out in the dictionary but a full-fledged cause, women are taking up positions high up in the ladder and the world is shifting on its axis to accommodate the fact that we aren’t a lesser gender. One could say that it is the perfect time to break past stereotypes and keeping the same thought in mind, is actress Rakul Preet who is ready to rock her upcoming role with the RSVP Movies by playing the character of a “condom tester”.
As controversial as it sounds, the De De Pyaar De actress’s new and upcoming role with Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies is creating quite a buzz around town simply for how unconventional it is assumed to be. Although the title of the film is yet to be disclosed, what has been revealed by the director of the film, Tejas Deoskar, is that Rakul Preet would be seen donning a rather “experimental role”.
She would be portraying a young girl in the role of a condom tester for a condom brand, requiring her to test the quality the products before they make it available to the people in the market. A rather interesting and definitely an out of the box idea, especially for Indian cinema.

When asked about her role at length, she told Spotboye that, “It’s very exciting and I am very thrilled about that film because it’s important to sort of highlight some issues in a light-hearted way and that has got me pretty excited. But for now, that will happen towards the end of the year.”
In the same vein, when director Tejas Deoskar spoke about it a while back, he shared how, “Our film is a social family entertainer, which aims at destigmatising the use of condoms and for this one, I always believed Rakul was the best suited for the character. She brings freshness to every role that she portrays and with a sensitive, thought-provoking subject like this, she was our first choice. Rakul was thrilled when she was approached for the film. She heard the narration and immediately agreed to do it.”
While the name of the movie and other details are yet to be disclosed, we are thrilled to see how this one pans out with the fans in a society that still has a long way to go.
