Rakul Preet Gets Trolled For Smoking In Manmadhudu 2, People Say It’s A Bad Influence
Rakul Preet Singh, who was last seen in De De Pyaar De alongside Tabu and Ajay Devgn, received praises for her performance in the film. Rakul’s carefree and bold character was smitten with Ajay Devgn’s characters in the film, their age gap and the fun that ensues was the crux of the film. Looks like the actress has a lot of exciting projects in her kitty also. But today, the internet is up in arms about a scene in Rahul Ravindran’s directorial, Manmadhudu 2. In the movie we will see Rakul Preet essaying the character of Avantika. The movie pairs Rakul Preet with ace actor Nagarjuna and we are looking forward to their chemistry.
Rakul Preet looked absolutely smashing in the trailer, playing the character to the tee and we are already falling in love with her character in the film. However, the Internet is filled with trolls, and actors specifically have to face them on a daily basis which has got to be frustrating. Some section of the audience were in all praises for the actress while the rest had to say mean stuff about Rakul Preet’s character, for openly smoking in the film. Well, the last time I checked it was 2019 and still we see people having issues with a woman smoking on screen! I mean…lets not forget about how this was the same audience that was crazy about Kabir Singh and didn’t raise any questions or pass judgements about Shahid’s character.

Director Rahul Ravindran and his wife Chinmayi Sripaada are also facing major backlash and at have been at the receiving end of barbs for having ‘double standards.’ After the release of Kabir Singh, Chinmayi criticised the director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s distasteful remarks about love and its physical demonstration. She wrote, “If a man is deeply connected with you – He will NEVER LAY HIS HANDS ON YOU. He will NEVER slap you. He will NEVER TOUCH YOU without your consent. Women (and young boys) have been told for aeons that being beaten up is a sign of Love* / *Discipline* IT IS ABUSE! (sic)”
As soon as the trailer of Manmadhudu 2 got out, the netizens were concerned with the character smoking and having multiple relationships in the film! The audience was not in favor of Rahul and Chinmayi glorifying smoking in the film and said it would have had negative impact of young girls. The two are unfazed about the trolls and haven’t responded to any.

Well apart from this we are definitely excited to watch Manmadhudu 2, which is all set to hit the theatres on August 9. The post-production work is progressing at a brisk pace. The film is a sequel to superhit venture of the same name.
