In His Independence Day Speech, PM Modi Talks About Gender Equality And Respecting Nari Shakti. Take Notes, People!

India celebrated its 75th Independence Day today. The Tricolour was unfurled in every part of the country with Indians standing at attention and saluting our flag as they sang the National Anthem in their loudest voice ever. One of the most looked forward to events of the day is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech from the Red Fort where he addresses the entire nation and shares his thoughts on the years post Independence gone by. In his today’s speech, PM Modi also gave a special mention to the women force of the country. He asked the country people to take pledges that would fulfil our freedom fighters’ dream that they saw for our country. PM Modi said that people must do nothing that would, in any way, lower the dignity of women.

Firstly, he asked everyone to pledge to get rid of the behaviour that insults women. Prime Minister Modiji also said that respecting women is important for India’s growth. He further urged people to practise gender equality at home as well. Elaborating on the same, he said that unity in a true sense is formed when boys and girls are treated as equals.

Modiji also recalled the sacrifices made and the fight put up by the female freedom fighters like Jhalkari Bai, Chennamma, Rani Laxmibai, Begun Hazrat Maha and others. He added that for the freedom fighters’ dream to be fulfilled, women will also have to play a crucial role. He said that if we empower our women, we will achieve our goals in a far shorter duration and with less effort.

Shedding light on the importance of giving women equal opportunities, Narendra Modiji said that the Nari Shakti is being represented in all parts of the society and if more opportunities are given to men and daughters, the more our nation will progress.

While the Prime Minister has asked the citizens to pledge to support women, we hope that young Indian men do take the appeal seriously. We hope that they do not go about abusing and trolling women online when they address their concerns against the government. We are also hoping that people will take this message as seriously as they do to just about everything else said by our PM.
