Case Against Poonam Pandey Filed In Goa For Allegedly Shooting ‘Porn’ Video On Government Property
Ever since college, my friends and I make it a point to visit Goa at least once a year. The beaches, combined with the nightlife and King’s beer, make this place a haven. Okay, I might be a tad biased. However, everything that is happening in Goa is making headlines and it’s not because of the usual reasons. Locals are protesting several government projects that are set to damage the biodiversity of Goa. And amid all this chaos, there is yet another reason this state is currently all over social media. You see, a case against Poonam Pandey has been registered for allegedly shooting a ‘porn’ video in Goa. I am really starting to think drama just follows her around like a lost puppy.
A police complaint has been filed against Poonam Pandey by the women’s wing of the Goa Forward Party and the state Water Resources department. According to the complaint, she was allegedly shooting an obscene video at the Chapoli dam in Canacona village without permission. An FIR has been filed against an unnamed person for featuring Poonam in the porn video at the Canacona Police Station.
Deputy superintendent of police Nelson Albuquerque said, “A case was registered against Pandey after she was spotted in the video which has gone viral. She has been booked for obscene gestures, trespassing on the government property, and for shooting and distributing an indecent video.”

The entire matter came to light when Poonam Pandey’s soft porn video went viral on social media. That’s when the authorities took action since no permission has been taken to shoot this obscene video on restricted-access government property.
In a statement, Goa Forward Party says that this video is like an assault on the image of Goa. It reads, “We would like to draw your attention towards allegedly porn video starring actor Poonam Pandey which is being circulated over social media in the state. This video is a sort of assault on Goan women and has tarnished the image of Goa. The shooting of this porn video is done at Chapoli dam Canacona, which has shocked the people of Cancona, famous for its culture.”
Okay, what Poonam Pandey did was messed up and especially right now when the political environment in Goa is so unstable. However, there is no connection between this video that has gone viral on social media and the reputation of Goan women. Calling this ordeal an “assault” is kind of pushing it considering we live in a country where an actual assault on women is not taken seriously. There’s nothing against the culture of a particular place. That part is nonsensical.

Of course, that being said, we can’t help but wonder how it is that Poonam Pandey stirs up controversies every time she steps into Goa. The last time was when she and her husband Sam Bombay went there to celebrate their honeymoon and ended up filing a complaint against him for domestic violence. Though that didn’t stick because she dropped the charges and told TOI, “We are trying to iron out things and have more or less sorted it all out. We are back together. You know what? We both love each other too much. We are madly in love. And, which shaadi does not have its ups and downs?” I don’t think she realises domestic violence is not part of the usual “ups and downs” that marriages have.
And now, with this porn video scandal, Poonam Pandey has proved that she would be the perfect contestant for Bigg Boss. I mean how can she not be? Her life is a never-ending series of rubbish dramas anyway. I just hope that this controversy doesn’t pull focus from the issues in Goa that actually need to be addressed right now.
