S Phangnon Konyak, Nagaland’s First-Ever Woman MP Takes Oath In Rajya Sabha With 5 Other Members.

Whether it is politics or sports, women are now on top and inspiring other women to chase their dreams. The most recent example of it is BJP’s Mahila Morcha President S Phangnon Konyak who recently took the oath in the Upper House. Yep, BJP’s S Phangnon Konyak is Nagaland’s first-ever woman MP that took the oath in the Rajya Sabha with five other members of the house. in front of the chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu and other members.

S Phangnon Konyak, who is a member of the BJP, is Nagaland’s first-ever woman to become an MP and take an oath in the Rajya Sabha. There were five other members from other parts of the countries who also took the oath along with her in front of M. Venkaiah Naidu, the chairman, and other parliamentarians.

The 44-year-old member of the parliament was decked up in her traditional Naga clothes and jewellery as she stepped up to take the oath. As per reports, along with S Phangnon Konyak, there was Pabitra Margherita (Assam), Rwngwra Narzary (Assam), Santosh Kumar (Kerala), AA Rahim (Kerala), and Jebi Mather Hisham (Kerala).

It is inspiring to see women like her leading the way and making a place for other women in such a male-dominated sector. And what I loved the most about her is that she wore clothes and jewellery that represent the part of India she comes from, Nagaland. In her own subtle way, she ensured that everyone knows how proud she is of her hometown and her culture.
