Ons Jabeur Creates History As She Becomes The First Arab And First African Woman To Reach Wimbledon Finals
As we all know, women have stamped their authority in every field and sports is no exception. Well, speaking of sports, I think women are way better than men in showing sportsmanship and we have seen many examples of it as well. Recently, Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur became the first African and Arab woman to reach a Grand Slam final after beating her good friend – Tatjana Maria on Thursday.

On Thursday, the professional tennis player of Tunisia – Ons Jabeur made her entire continent proud after she created history by becoming the first Arab and first African woman to reach the Wimbledon final after beating Tatjana Maria. After her iconic win, Jabeur said that it is a dream come true after years of work and sacrifice. She added that she is happy that her hard work paid off and she will continue for one more match. After this, Jabeur will face Elena Rybakina in the women’s singles final at 2022 Wimbledon.

Talking about her victory, Ons Jabeur mentioned that she knows people are going crazy in Tunisia right now and said that she wants to see more Arab and African players on the tour as she loves the game and wants to share the experience with others as well. Before her, only two African women – Irene Bowder Peacock, at the 1927 French Open, and Renee Schuurman, in the 1959 Australian Open have also achieved this marvellous feat.
