Olympic Swimmer Linda Cerruti Hits Back At Sexist Comments On Her Pictures. Can Men Just Leave Women’s Pics Alone?

It is absolutely shameful to see that a woman’s achievements are always overshadowed by her body and figure. This pathetic mindset is still prevalent across the world and through social media, it often comes to the surface. No matter what kind of success a woman has earned in her life, she will always be first judged on her looks and body. This similar narrow-minded thought was seen from people in the latest pictures of an Olympic swimmer, Linda Cerruti, and the medalist gave back to these comments with just the right words.

A week back, Linda Cerruti, a professional swimmer had posted some pictures of her flaunting the medals she had earned at the European Championships. The poses in the pictures were very creative, and Linda Cerruti could be seen upside down in a stretching pose with medals hanging on her legs. She was delighted to show the medals she had won after so much hard work and sacrifice. However, Linda’s success was not perceived by all in the same way and some people on the internet decided to just sexualise her body and overlook what the picture really wanted to show!

On August 25, Linda Cerruti again took to her social media account to write a long post slamming the people who had made “sexist” and vulgar remarks on the photos. Linda shared a screenshot of some comments that were under the original post, and as per the swimmer, this screenshot was shared by one of her friends. One of the comments read  and it was written in Italian “Nice medals, but the space between medals 4 and 5 isn’t bad either.” Along with the picture, Linda Cerruti strongly hit back at these people. She expressed her disgust at such comments and said that is “shameful to say the least.” Linda also talked about the inappropriateness of these comments on a picture that had artistic values and was so close to her heart because she was proud to show off all the medals. Linda also outrightly questioned that a “bum and two legs are the main topic to talk about, now?” She went ahead to thank the people who supported her against such demeaning comments and clearly stated that it is a “picture of an artistic swimmer who is proud of her achievements.”
