Obsessive Man Killed Wife For Crushing On Hrithik Roshan. This Has Got To Be A New Low
I was nine years old when Hrithik Roshan made his debut in Bollywood, like the cutest thing on planet with his debut movie Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. It took me three hours to fall in love with him. I was legit crazy about him. I even made a scrapbook of his pictures that I cut out from newspapers and magazines. Then, he went on to do some really shady movies like Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage which was basically a love story between a humble guy and a perennially hyperventilating girl. All I could take away from that movie was how offensive Ameesha Patel’s random breathlessness was to asthma patients or humans in general. But that’s a different story. My point is that I would watch him in any shitty movie, voluntarily. Okay, that’s a bit much but never did I think that being an actor’s fan can be life-threatening. Not to me but someone, somewhere.
In a bizarre turn of events, Dineshwar Budhidat, a 33-year-old man in the US killed his wife for being Hrithik Roshan’s fan. His wife, Donne Dojoy, who worked as a bartender was a huge fan of Hrithik and that used to leave Budhidat enraged with jealousy, as revealed by her friends to The Post.

Mala Ramdhani, a karaoke singer at the bar where Dojoy worked revealed how her husband would get mad at her for watching Hrithik’s movies, “She told me when she was at home watching a movie or listening to a song (with Hrithik in it), he would ask her to take it off because he would get so jealous,” Ramdhani said. “Any movie Hrithik acted in, she wanted to see it,” Ramdhani further added.
Dojoy had moved out of her husband’s apartment but agreed to drop by for a movie date with him, which went awfully wrong as he ended up killing her. In fact, he texted her sister informing her of the murder and also instructing that the key to the apartment was under a flowerpot. He then hung himself from a tree nearby.

Apparently, this wasn’t the first time he was abusive. According to a report by The New York Daily News, Budhidat had hit her just a few weeks after they got married. He slapped her and strangled her, before he got arrested and she took an order of protection against him. I don’t understand why after such instances of out of control violence, she still trusted him. Why would you go back into the house of someone who assaulted you?

Rodney, a friend of Dojoy’s said, “She talked about him abusing her, controlling her, beating her, scaring her, threatening to kill her.” And well, he did! “She never took it seriously because she loved him,” Rodney added. So many women have fallen prey to toxic, threatening relationships and toxic masculinity. Don’t ever, ever justify in your head someone’s violence. It’s not acceptable and your safety matters over anything else!
