Now, CDC Endorses Covid-19 Vaccine For Pregnant Women

The world has been in a crisis for over a year. Covid-19 has changed the way we function in our daily lives. Our front-line workers have worked day and night to beat the Covid-19 virus. And now that we have the Covid-19 vaccines out, it’s time we all behave like responsible citizens of the world and get vaccinated. Especially pregnant women since they are the most vulnerable at this time. For a very long time, there were debates going on about whether or not Covid-19 vaccines are safe for pregnant women. And now, we have the CDC endorsing Covid-19 vaccines for pregnant women after ensuring that they are safe for women to take any time during their pregnancy.

Recently, on Wednesday, the Federal health officials in the United States recommended that pregnant women should take the Covid-19 vaccines and protect themselves from the virus. The CDC has found new data that support their notion that Covid-19 vaccines do not increase the chances of miscarriage in pregnant women.

The CDC report states that the Covid-19 vaccines are safe and do not increase chances of miscarriage among those pregnant women who were immunized during the first 20 weeks of gestation. And this data is built on the previous data that also showed the same.

The CDC states that Covid-19 vaccinations should be given to pregnant women during their pregnancy so that they are immune to the Covid-19 vaccine. And their statement now highlights and supports the recommendations of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and other medical groups. One of the epidemiologists in the reproductive health department of CDC stated, “At this time, the benefits of vaccination, and the known risks of Covid during pregnancy and the high rates of transmission at this time, outweigh theoretical risks of the vaccine.”

And if the CDC experts say that their research shows that the Covid-19 vaccine is safe for pregnant women, then it definitely must be. Pregnant women are the most vulnerable to the Covid-19 virus and so for them to get immune to it is of extreme importance. I would urge all the pregnant women out there to speak to your gynecologist(s) and based on their recommendations take the Covid-19 vaccine at the earliest.
