Nora Fatehi Says Her Role Is Not Limited To That Of A Dancer In O Saki Saki. She Has A Role In Batla House

Whatever Bollywood does, it does with a singular focus to replicate it multiple times if it works the first time. If biopics are working, everyone wants to make biopics, if masala entertainers are the flavour the day, then several of the same kind are made. And now, we are rehashing 90s numbers to create songs which, are sometimes nice and at other times, ghastly monstrosities that no one should be subjected to. Speaking of songs being recreated, yet another foot-tapping song, which was better when it was untouched is the dance number O Saki Saki. The new video has Nora Fatehi grooving to the music that has been familiar. Despite all the contradicting views on O Saki Saki, there is no denying that Nora Fatehi was the highlight of the song. Nora Fatehi, who was the talk of the town for her previous dance number, Dilbar, also has a pivotal role in Batla House, which released on August 15, 2019.

Nora Fatehi had only three days in hand to master the art of dancing with fire for this version of O Saki Saki. Talking about her preparation for this song, Nora said, “I had only three days to learn how to use the prop [fire fan]. Once I got the basic idea of handling it, I had to learn the complicated dance steps.” She added, “The fire fans were heavy. Add to that, I had to wear a flowy skirt and leave my hair loose. So, playing with fire in such a scenario was challenging. Now that the song is liked by everyone, my hard work has paid off.”

Nora Fatehi couldn’t be more grateful for the response she received for her  dancing skilla. But looks like her part in the film is not just for the song, in fact, she has a full-fledged role. She said, “I am grateful that the industry appreciates my dancing skills. I don’t perceive these songs as item numbers; they are performance-oriented songs. It’s not my sex appeal, but my performance [in the number] that becomes the talking point. In Batla House, I am not restricted to doing Saki Saki. I have a full-fledged role of a girl who comes from a small town and whose existence is important in driving the story ahead. There were times when I would hug Nikkhil after a shot because he is allowing me to live my dream.”

Earlier in an interview, Nikhil Advani also revealed things about Nora Fatehi’s role and said, “It was the toughest part of the film (to fit a role for her) because I didn’t want Nora to be just an item girl. I made sure she had a role and did acting and dialogue workshops with her.” The ace director added, “She is an integral part of the movie. I am convinced about O Saki Saki being a part of Batla House.”

Nora Fatehi will also be seen in the Remo D’souza directorial, Street Dancer 3D, alongside Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, where she will be seen playing a key role. The film is slated to release on 2020!
