Netflix’s Sacred Games Season 2 Is Coming Soon And Here’s What We Are Expecting

Everyone has two questions from Sacred Games 1. What happened to Gaitonde and what’s going to happen in 25 days? Co-directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, with power-packed performances from actors such as Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte and Kubra Sait,  the first season of Sacred Games had us hooked. We’d go out on a limb and say that the show gained immense popularity and became an international success. It definitely surpassed all our expectations and now, buzz is that the second season of the Netflix show will be even bigger!

All of us can unanimously agree that waiting for the next season of a captivating show has us full of nervous excitement. Gaitonde (Nawazudin Siddiqui) becomes international crime lord

Like the first season, the second instalment of Sacred Games, too will see two parallel storylines running, that is, one of Gaitonde’s past and the other of the present day. Except that in this season, we will see Gaitonde leaving Mumbai and taking Africa by storm. The crew shot in parts of Kenya, Johannesburg and Cape Town. Of course, the show made mind-blowing profits and a location upgrade is proof! We are expecting some stunning visuals and spectacular action sequences!

Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi) will establish a cult of sorts

In the first season, we saw the introduction of Guruji, almost at the end, when Sartaj finds him in a bunker. However, we’ve heard of this Guruji, who he also referred to as his third father. Now we know that the relationship they shared turned sour, and in this season we are expecting to find out exactly what happened. We are also expecting to see a lot of Guruji, in the second season, he appears to be a significant participant in the threat that Sartaj (Saif Ali Khan) is trying to save Mumbai from. In the trailer, Guruji is seen giving out speeches, demanding sacrifices from his followers and basically establishing a cult. We don’t know yet how this “religious leader” participates in the conspiracy, but we’re expecting to find all the answers in the upcoming season.

Elnaaz Norouzi a.k.a Zoya Mirza with an intriguing story

In the previous season, we saw Kubbra Sait playing the role of Kukoo, a transgender and also the love interest of Gaitonde. Her character was bold and with strong sexual appeal. And in this upcoming season of Sacred Games, we have Zoya (Elnaaz Norouzi) who is a boss lady, an actress with a vulnerable past. This character is bound to come with layers and dimensions that will add more mystique to the show.

Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey enter the show as the bad guys supposedly

We watched the trailer a couple of times so we don’t miss out any details and here’s what we found! Kalki is part of Guruji’s circle and her name in the show is Batya Abelman. Ranvir Shorey on the other hand plays the role of Shahid Khan, and looks like he may be part of Gaitonde’s circle. We don’t know yet what their motives are. Oooh, the mind boggles.

A threat bigger than what we expected in Season 1

We were expecting it to be bomb blasts that Gaitonde has been warning Sartaj against. However, the trailer dropped a major clue, revealing that it could be a nuclear attack! So in the trailer, you can see yellow boxes being taken from one place to another, marked with the symbol of radioactive contents. At another point in the trailer, an officer looks at a piece of evidence which reads, “It’s time for war.” This is followed by Sartaj asking, “Like Hiroshima and Nagasaki?”
