Neighbour Calls The Cops On Woman For Dressing Inappropriately. On The Road. Just Look Away Man!

Daisy Shah once famously said, “My business is my business, none of your business.’ And while it may have become meme material, because, well, it was funny. But with that dialogue she did say something really important. That way too often, people are policed for the choices they make. Despite the choices being deeply personal and literally affecting nobody else, people think it’s okay to pass judgements on who other people should love, where they should have agency and even what they are wearing.

We’ve recently written a bunch of stories about how women are being policed for what they are wearing. Like this woman who was told that she would have to cover up while she was going to board a flight because it made the male pilot ‘uncomfortable.’ Maybe if the pilot concentrated his energy on his flying skills instead of his misogyny, we would all be happier. And now, news has emerged of a neighbour who called the police on Rovi Wade, a Tik Tok-er , because she thought Rovi was inappropriately dressed.

Before you ask, there is no confirmation whether the irate and annoyed neighbour owned the road that Rovi Wade was shooting on. Neither do we know why the woman was furious when she could have looked away and she wouldn’t have to see Rovi wearing whatever she thought was offensive. Because as we all know, we control our own eyes.

While it remains one of the most unimportant things in this conversation, Rovi was wearing ripped denim booty shorts, with a sparkly silver crop top, a spiked choker and black knee-high boots. Nothing to call the police about really. When the police officer turned up, obviously taken away from serious stuff like fighting crime, Rovi said, “I am fully dressed, she just doesn’t like my style. And I told her, ‘My body offends you. That’s what the issue is. And I’m allowed to exist and be hot, and I’m going to continue to do so.’ I don’t know what she expects you to do.” Rovi is right because we don’t know what the irate neighbour wants the police officer to do also. Should the officer be carrying pieces of clothing that they can fling on people whose clothes are deemed offensive by neighbours? Should they put eye masks on people that get offended by other people’s sartorial choices? We need some answers.

Rovi then put up the video on Tik Tok with the caption, “Yesterday my neighbour called the cops on me for dressing ‘inappropriately’…” Since Saturday, since the video has been put up, it has been shared 12 million times and people are glad she is calling her neighbour out. Most of the comments have been appreciative and supportive of her.

We think Rovi Wade should continue to do what she does, not giving a damn about nosy neighbours.

Seen it all?

We’ve got more!
