7 Reasons Why Being A Housewife Is A Huge Risk For Women!

Being a mother is a tough job, and being a working mother is probably the toughest job in the world. But, as a woman who was raised by a working mother, I can assure you that seeing my mother juggling the role of a professional and a mother to perfection was inspiring. She taught me to chase my dreams and that I can work hard and achieve anything I want. But these days, women are no longer choosing to work, they literally have to. There is no other choice for the sake of their rights and safety.

Being a housewife is probably the riskiest thing a woman can choose to be, nowadays. If you’re wondering why, there are a lot of sad, hard truths and reasons behind this. This national housewives’ day, let’s list them down.

7 Reasons Why Being A Housewife Is Very Risky These Days

1. Men Have Failed Us

Men have effectively failed at doing the one job they had. The one job that they themselves asked for i.e. being the breadwinners. Plus, these men have more power when they’re breadwinners, and women don’t unless they’re bringing in money.

2. Domestic Abuse And Violence

Women don’t want to depend on men due to crimes like domestic abuse against women increasing on a daily basis. Furthermore, these men don’t value housewives and they seem disposable which makes things much worse.

3. Economic Abuse Exists

Economic abuse is a harsh reality. This financial abuse depletes women’s financial independence and confidence. Furthermore, using money as a point of power, men also control women and control them as they want. This opens doors to emotional as well as domestic abuse. Women don’t want to risk it.

4. The Patriarchal Society

Society forces women to pause their careers and lives to take care of their families and have children. Once this happens, they have a hard time returning to their careers and end up sacrificing everything for the sake of family.

5. Their Lives Get Limited

Having no job makes women feel less valuable and that’s why financial freedom gives them more to live for, instead of limiting their lives. This also gives women a newfound sense of independence which is extremely essential.

6. Loss Of Identity And Depression

Housewives also loose their own identity and end up merging it with their partner or family’s identity as a whole. This is what causes high rates of depression and anxiety in these women.

7. Lack Of Financial Independance

When women don’t work and turn into housewives, it causes a lack of financial independence for them, which means that they have to ask their husbands and spend according to them. This limits when and how much they are allowed to spend. This can be very limiting and awful.
