MP Woman Cut Off A Man’s Genitals As He Tried To Rape Her.

We’d like to assert the importance of having men sit down and be talked to about self-control so that they keep themselves from attacking women because right now, they are (still) putting the onus on the women. There still remains an imperative need for women to learn how to fend for themselves. In a world where we can’t be too careful, or ever stop looking over our shoulders, women need to be prepared to face any danger, especially till the time the perpetrators out there learn to stop. And taking charge of her own safety, was one such woman from Madhya Pradesh, who cut the genitals of a man who allegedly tried to rape her.

A case that has been filed by a 45-year-old woman from Madhya Pradesh, the incident took place in the Umariha village, approximately 50 kms from the district headquarters on Thursday, at night around 11 pm. The woman claimed that a man snuck up to her house when her husband wasn’t home, and tried to rape her.

The police complaint filed by the victim shares that the husband of the victim  had gone out of station for some work when the incident took place and the woman was alone at her home with her 13-year-old son.

The Khaddi police outpost in-charge sub inspector (SI) Dharmendra Singh Rajput shared, “The woman was at home with her 13-year-old son when the accused (45) entered their house. However, thinking that a thief had sneaked in, her son ran to safety out of the house.”

That is when, the victim claims, that the intruder thrashed the woman and tried to sexually assault her. Resisting the entire attempt and assault for over 20 minutes, it was during this struggle to protect herself, that the woman ended up cutting the man’s genitals off.

In a bid to save herself, the woman picked up a sickle lying under her cot and cut off the man’s genitals. The woman then reached the police outpost and lodged a complaint against him around 1.30 am on Friday,” Rajput shared. He also shared that the accused was then taken to the hospital.

Admitted in the Sanjay Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Rewa district for further treatment, the accused as of now has been booked under  IPC section 354 (criminal force on woman with an intent to outrage her modesty), 456 (house-trespass or house-breaking by night), 294 (obscene acts), 506 (criminal intimidation) and others. Meanwhile, a case against the woman has also been lodged by the criminal, under IPC section 327 (voluntarily causing hurt).

Considering how this was no more than self-defencs, we hope that the charges against the woman are dropped after due investigation, for when criminals will start intruding our homes and raping us, women would have to do whatever it takes to protect themselves.
