The former IPL Chairman – Lalit Modi tied the knot with Minal Modi in the year 1991 and they remained together until she passed in 2018 due to cancer at the age of 63.

Before starting a new life with Modi, Minal was married to a Saudi Arabia-based businessman, Jack Sagrani. Sagrani used to work in Saudi Arabia for Inlaks, owned by Indoo and Lakshmi Shivdasani. While Minal was pregnant, he was caught in a scam and jailed for seven months when Minal was pregnant with their first child. She gave birth to their daughter, Karima in London and Sagrani was not able to visit them, she later moved to Delhi.

When she arrived in Delhi, she befriended Lalit’s mother, Bina Modi and they both used to see each other often. However, when Lalit Modi and Minal Modi decided to get married to each other, his mother felt betrayed and his entire family was not ready for the wedding due to their 10-year age gap. But they got married and they became parents to two children – Aaaliya Modi and Richir Modi. You will be surprised to know that Sushmita Sen is said to have known Modi’s ex-wife Minal Modi personally. The three would often watch cricket matches together.
