Man Makes Unsolicited Video Calls To Actress And Masturbates. Women Can’t Even Pick Up Calls Without Dread Now
I am generally not a call person. By that I mean, if you being my friend, have to make a call to me, it would have to be preceded with an intimation on text, at least a little while before so I can be prepared, either to accept the call or to give me enough time to come up with a lame excuse as to why I can’t turn up. Which is why my home screen is usually filled with missed call notifications. Especially from unknown numbers, because being a woman, having a random guy get access to your number can quickly escalate to them harassing you, now even on video calls. As is what went down with this actress from Mumbai, who became a victim to sexual harassment through the phone.
The complainant, who works as an actress in Mumbai and is also a self-defence trainer shared the incident as she narrated how she often used to receive WhatsApp calls from unknown numbers but never answered them to any of them. In the same regard, she once received video calls from a number that preceded a UK country code. After dismissing two of them, the actress accidentally ended up picking the third call.
Upon picking it, she quickly realised it and managed to cover her own lens so the caller won’t see her video. However, the video of the caller was still switched on, and to her shock and disgust, he was masturbating during this time.

The woman, still making sure her video is covered, took screenshots of the guy masturbating over unsolicited video calls to later submit them to the police and file a case for sexual harassment, for the guy later also started texting her while addressing her by her name.
The woman disclosed to The Times of India, “The culprit must have sensed that he was in for trouble and started apologizing. He said he was a 20-year-old student and had made a mistake. He also claimed the video call and messages were meant for a friend who shared the same name as me.”
As of now, an FIR has been lodged at the Versova Police Station. The police is looking into the matter while having started to track the number down. Here is hoping that they nab the guy and make an example out of him. Without permission, to send any sort of a perverted message, dick pic or in this case, making such video calls to women is simply not acceptable and culprits must be punished.
