Malaika Arora Opens About Being Constantly Trolled, Says She Doesn’t Care. We Love Her Attitude

It is true that social media is both a boon and a curse. On one hand, it gives us all the relevant information we need and hilarious memes, and on the other hand, it provides an open platform for people to mock public figures. I have been following this culture for a while now and I don’t think I have ever come across a time when a celebrity was trolled, and it was justified. I think the people behind the screens just have a flair for being dramatic but without any reason.

There is one thing I have always wondered though, how do celebrities deal with it? Because if it were me being ridiculed on social media, I would want to crawl under a rock. And now, we know thanks to Malaika Arora who said trolling does not bother her at all. All actresses need to have her headstrong approach.

Talking about how she deals with memes and trolls, Malaika said “I don’t bother at all. It’s really sad trolling etc. I feel social media has become a very negative space and that’s really sad. Nobody wants to see negativity at the end of the day I feel you should spread happiness and positivity. To answer your questions, I don’t care and I don’t bother. I feel logon ka kaam hai kehna (I feel no matter what, people will talk), they will do that and I can’t go around and stop someone. People will continue talking so let them.”

I wish I could disagree with her, but I can’t. Social media has, in fact, become a very negative space and more so for celebrities. They are trolled incessantly for the slightest mistake they make, for the clothes they wear and for the things they say. The list goes on and on, whoever these trolls are, they probably love mocking people for no reason at all and none of it ever actually funny. I think they forget that even though celebrities are famous, they are still probable to make the same mistakes we do. The only difference is the mistakes they make, affect people on a larger scale. But that is no reason to personally attack someone every chance you get.

In the same interview, the 47-year-old fitness and fashion icon said that she feels a lot of pressure when someone calls her an inspiration. She said, “I think it is quite a pressure when someone tells me that I am a fitness or a fashion inspiration. I always love the compliments. With such tags comes a certain sense of responsibility. Whatever I need to say or project I always try and see that there should be a certain sense of responsibility so that people who look to you or call your inspiration are not misled or misguided.” At least now we know she is a reliable influence.

Let’s tone down the trolling, please?
