Rajkummar Rao’s Made In China’s Trailer Is Like Watching Sexpert Mahindra Watsa’s Column Come To Life!

I love where Indian cinema is at the moment. We are breaking stereotypes, talking about social causes and making women-centric films. Taboos are being broken with movies that are initiating dialogues about period, sex and sex education. We also have LGBTQ representation in our movies and actors instead of heroes. This is the best time to be in the industry, because it’s offering a novel vista for them to showcase their talent. This is a phase of evolution, and we can all feel it. While all that inspirational stuff is cool, we have a bunch of comedies, with never-been-told stories that leave us baffled for good! I mean, who would have thought about a movie about penis-soup? Okay, that’s not the theme but it does revolve around it. Before you scratch your head and ask me what potent stuff I have been inhaling, watch the trailer of Rajkummar Rao’s Made In China.

The movie is about Raghu (Rajkummar Rao) who wants to be an entrepreneur and is looking for his ticket to make it big! How he rises to becoming the entrepreneur of the year is what we see in this movie. No, it’s not an inspirational journey of a businessman, like Abhishek Bachchan’s Guru. This is a story of legit jugaad and how Raghu finds himself in China and bringing home his star product- Tiger penis soup that promises to solve all your sex problems! ‘What the fuck?’ is guaranteed to be your first reaction, followed by a series of crazy, falling-from-your-seat kind of laughs!

Watch the trailer here:

Raghu collaborates with Dr Vardi (Boman Irani) who is a sexologist and is seen answering hilarious problems like ‘bulb jal jaata hai lekin aag nahi lagti’. There’s also a patient referring to his penis as “chota bhai” which wants to become “baahubali”, insinuating that he wants to increase the size of his penis. The sex puns in the trailer are rib-tickling to say the least! From the trailer, I have gathered that this movie will satirically show India’s obsession with sex and yet being crazy hesitant in speaking about anything related to sex openly.

In Raghu’s entrepreneurial journey, Paresh Rawal is shown playing a mentor of sorts, while Sumit Vyas and Gajraj Rao have a role to play in it as well. Mouni Roy is playing Rajkummar’s wife. The cast, the script, and the dialogues – everything looks promising in the trailer and my expectations are sky high already. The movie is slated for releasing on October 25.
