Among other things, Women’s Day has always been about celebrating women and their achievements. And of all the women who deserve to be celebrated, one of them is Kalpana Chawla – the first woman to ever land in space. The year 2022 marks the 9th death anniversary of the Indian-American astronaut. To mark it, her husband, Jean-Pierre Harrison, has decided to release 10 unseen pics of Kalpana Chawla along with personalised quotes from her.
Jean-Pierre Harrison, the husband of Kalpana Chawla, has released 10 unseen pics of her that will be sold as NFTs. GuardianLink, the NFT Auction platform has decided to launch this exclusive collection on International Women’s Day, March 8.

As per the reports, all the 10 unseen pics of Kalpana Chawla will have personalised quotes by the Indian-American astronaut. The collection will have 25 copies of each of the 10 pics – that is 250 NFTs. And all the proceeds will go to the education and support of poor children.
Speaking ahead of the launch of the collection that will include unseen pics of Kalpana Chawla, Jean-Pierre Harrison said, “In recognition of Kalpana’s achievements, I have approved the release of NFTs consisting of rare and previously unseen photographs of moments from her life… This set of NFTs will be released on International Women’s Day, 8 March 2022, on BeyondLife.club, powered by GuardianLink. Proceeds from this sale will be donated to an Indian charity with an outstanding record of supporting and educating children from some of India’s poorest areas.”
