Janhvi Kapoor Feels Talking About Her Film Roohi Afza Will Invite Buri Nazar. Superstitious Much?

I like to think my family is a typical Indian Punjabi family, the kind that loves to splurge, eat, drink, occasionally curse and well, the obvious – make monthly visits to a family astrologer. Never mind that we live in 2019, the superstitions still run strong in their head, especially since only last month I was made to wear a black thread around my ankle to ward off evil. But hey, my family and I may not be the only ones, since Janhvi Kapoor has admittedly joined the party too!

The actress, who will next be seen alongside Rajkumar Rao in their upcoming movie – Roohi Afza, was spotted attending the Grazia Millennial Awards in Mumbai on Wednesday, when she talked about the film (barely) and said, “The shooting of the film has been going on really well. Whether you call me superstitious or old-fashioned, I feel if you talk more about your film, it will catch the evil’s eye.”

She further went on to say, “So, I will not speak much about the film. I feel fortunate to be part of this film and to be working with people who are involved in it.” Not sure what to make of her staunch belief in the evil eye superstition, but we have to admit it’s a thing us Indians at some level or the other can relate to.

From being told not to cross the road if a black cat crosses your path, to being reprimanded for shaking your legs while sitting, we’ve heard it all, but for the first time from the Dhadak actress. The actress had also commented, “I am looking forward to growing old. Actually everyone says I am mentally very young and I am still stuck at 10. So, I think I should grow up now a little bit.” And we couldn’t agree more.

Don’t get us wrong, we respect all beliefs, but evil eye? Seriously? Could that also be the reason that Dhadak didn’t do so well at the box office? That is of course if we turn a blind eye to the script… the mind is boggled! As for us, we wait to hear more about the film, from Rajkumar Rao if not Janhvi, considering he doesn’t feel strongly about the buri nazar!
