Israeli Swimmers Perform To Madhuri Dixit’s Song At Tokyo Olympics

I’m a fan of Bollywood films – especially when it comes to the 200s movies. There was a different charm about moves back then. From the songs to acting, everything just perfectly blended together. And I’m not the only one who thinks that. From Hollywood to now Israeli swimmers, they all have a soft spot when it comes to Bollywood movies – especially the songs of the 2000s. Don’t believe it? The performance of Israeli swimmers to Madhuri Dixit’s Aaja Nachle at the Tokyo Olympics will definitely convince you.

Recently, at the Tokyo Olympics 2021, Israeli swimmers – Eden Blecher and Shelly Bobritsky – won the hearts of Indians everywhere when a video of them performing to the Bollywood veteran actor Madhuri Dixit’s song – Aaja Nachle – went viral. On Tuesday, the two Israeli swimmers had taken part in the artistic swimming duet free routine preliminary at the Tokyo Aquatics Center.

In the video that went viral, the two Israeli swimmers, Eden Blecher and Shelly Bobritsky were seen performing a part of their routine in a flawless synchronized way to Madhuri Dixit’s song, Aaja Nachle. What was most thrilling for Indians worldwide was the fact that a Bollywood song was taking the limelight in the Tokyo Olympics 2021.

Out of the many comments that flooded the post, one that stood out for me was when a user wrote, “Divided by nations, united by Bollywood.” And another comment that stole the show was written by another user who wrote, “What a mixed bag of surprises with Bollywood in (Tokyo) Olympics. Just loved it! Really, amazing gener where Art has no boundaries.”

And I have to agree. I mean who would have thought Madhuri Dixit’s song, Aaja Nachle, would be performed by Eden Blecher and Shelly Bobritsky – the two Israeli swimmers? Definitely not me. Though their routine didn’t qualify for the final round, their performance and song choice won millions of Indian hearts.
