In Punjab, A Scrap Dealer’s Wife Wins A Rs.1 Crore In A Lottery With A Rs 100 Lottery Ticket
Statistics show that on an average, you’re more likely to get struck by lightning than actually win a lottery. And given how I’ve never won anything, even in a school lottery or a random raffle, I am pretty convinced that buying tickets to a lottery is a tempting scam that keeps people hopeful by luring them with awesome returns. But some people do get lucky. Like this woman from Punjab won herself the grand prize of the Punjab State Dear 100 Monthly Lottery.
Asha Rani, wife of Baghapurana’s scrap dealer won a whopping amount of Rs. 1 Crore in the Punjab State Dear lottery. Asha Rani’s story has come across as quite a surprise. Asha, the winner, has already submitted the ticket and required documents to the State Lotteries Department for encashment of the prize, as informed by the Punjab Government.

Overwhelmed with the outcome, Asha shared her joy as she said, “I had never thought in my wildest dreams that one day I will become a crorepati. It is a dream come true for me and my family.” Asha’s family and lifestyle have been modest till now, where her husband ran a scrap shop at Baghapurana and the two sons were working alongside the father. However, now as they have come into some money, things are finally starting to look up for Asha and her family.
Shedding light on her aspirations and what she plans on doing with the money, Asha said that her first priority would be to build a new house. Saying her current house is rather congested, Asha means to build a new home and put the remaining money into the family business. She also shared how the grand prize has been a blessing for her and her family, helping them out of their financial woes.
