Maintaining a healthy lifestyle today has become quite difficult due to various reasons. Not just eating healthy but people also do not find time to exercise or workout daily. Right from the time when we wake up to the time we go to sleep, our day is divided in such a way that it leaves no time for us to workout because it is impossible to squeeze in 7 hours of sleep, a good diet, waking up early, 9 hours at the office, and miscellaneous work in 24 hours! So, we spoke to holistic health expert Dr Mickey Mehta to share details on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle if you have a hectic schedule.

Dr Mickey Mehta’s advice
Leading holistic health guru, Dr Mickey Mehta, thinks that navigating a hectic schedule to make time for exercise is easy if you change your perception towards it. He said that changing your perception will give you enough time to do everything that you want to do in your routine. The health guru also says, “How one exercises, eats meals at the right time, and finds time to rest adequately are some of the lifestyle tips which need to be accommodated,” he added.

Start small
Dr Mehta advises that one should start small, meaning one should start by taking out five minutes in the morning after waking up to exercise. He suggests finding the first five minutes to exercise every day and for a month after you wake up, and keeping the same routine and exercise for those first five minutes. He added, “Next month, find the add-on five minutes.” By following this method, you can keep adding five minutes every month to your exercise routine and by the end of the month, you will have 60 minutes to exercise in the morning.

How to manage sleep?
Dr Mickey Mehta advises that in order to fit the above-mentioned workout schedule into your routine, you can try and prepone your sleep cycle. Taking about the importance of having adequate sleep, Dr Mehta says, ” The quality of sleep is more important than the quantity of sleep. Try and prepone your sleeping time by 15 minutes every week, gradually and prepone your wake-up time by 15 minutes.”

Food habits
What you eat and at what time also contributes to your health. Dr Mickey Mehta says, “Just make sure your hunger is at a peak when you want to eat or rather eat only when your hunger peaks. That ensures very good digestion.” He also suggests that you should eat as early as possible so that you have at least three hours before you sleep.
