A Study Shows That Companies With Female Executives Do Better Than Others. Humne Toh Pehle Hi Kaha Tha!

For ages now, women have been not been given the opportunity to hold leadership positions as they were concerned to be not competent enough to hold such power and responsibilities. But that seems to be changing with time as slowly but gradually, many women are slamming patriarchy by taking up leadership roles. However, new study says that companies with female executives do better than those dominated by men.

According to a House of Commons study, companies dominated by women do well as compared to those led by men. Anneliese Dodds, who is the shadow secretary for women and equalities has accused the government of the needs of women during the pandemic and have neglected them during recovery plans. This data proved that women could contribute to the economy but are held back due to lack of investments and the risk of “childcare deserts.”

Dodds remarked that when women are given the opportunity, they are able to handle businesses better than men. She said that she plans to tackle women’s problems from the very beginning. She stated that the problem with the current government is that they are simply not considering female employees.

Labour collected data from the House of Commons library which stated that companies which are in the top quartile for gender diversity on administrative teams are 25% more likely to have a higher profitability than those in the bottom. Also, countries with more than 30% of females in executive positions are more likely to outperform those that don’t.

Dodds said, “Unless we actually back women in business, then we’re going to be losing out on a huge amount of potential extra economic activity and prosperity, that all of our communities really need.”

Researcher Equileap stated that in the UK, women make up only a fifth which is around 20% of executive teams. Moreover, only 13 companies which are 6% have female CEOs and 27 companies which is around 13% has a female CFO, according to the Guardian.
