Gang Rape Survivor From Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir Makes An Emotional Appeal To PM Modi, Says “My Children Are Facing Life Threats”

I have met so many people who think that feminism is an age-old concept and we don’t need it anymore. They think that men and women are equal and I just want them to read the newspaper and see the number the rape cases. And the saddest part is that many rape survivors have to face the consequences of reporting sexual assault. One such case came to light when a gang rape survivor from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir made an appeal to PM Narendra Modi to help her and her family.

Recently, a gang rape survivor named Maria Tahir who lives in Pakistan-occupied Kasmir shared a shocking and emotional video on social media. In the video, she made an appeal to Prime Minister Modi to provide her and her family shelter and protection as they are facing life threats. The gang rape survivor is fighting for justice for the last seven years. “Through this video, I am appealing to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allow us to come to India. My children are facing life threats. The local police and a senior politician, Choudhary Tariq Farooq, will anytime kill me and my children. I wish to request PM Modi to provide us shelter and protection”, she said in the video.

She also mentioned that the police of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the government, and the judiciary have failed to provide her justice. Instead of helping her and punishing the victims, they are humiliating her as she is a married woman who is fighting for justice.

It is so sad to hear that the people who are supposed to help the victims are ignoring their plight and trying to harass them.
