Facebook Is Going To Help You Sort Out Your Love Life

If your dating life is scraping the bottom of the barrel, and the options are looking very, very questionable, then Facebook might have a plan you might like. Yes, it looks like Facebook wants to help you get your love life off the ground, and maybe limping back to normalcy. At the social network’s recent F8 developers conference held at San Jose, California, Mark Zuckerberg talked about introducing a dating feature to develop meaningful relationships. Never had one, so will reserve comments on this.

But this could be awkward, you think? Your whole family is on Facebook and your mom is constantly leaving comments on your pictures about you being cute. The horror of her knowing how your dating life is going, well, mortifying. Don’t worry, your dating profile will be completely different from your regular profile on Facebook. The suggestions won’t include anything from your friend list, even if you’ve been relentlessly stalking certain profiles. Could this mean that you can’t be friends with your crush? It remains a mystery.

Mark said the reason they thought of this is because ‘There are 200 million people on Facebook that list themselves as single, so clearly there’s something to do here.’ Oh, there’s plenty to do here. The only people this probably isn’t working for is the people over at Tinder, whose shares fell by 22 percent when this news was announced.
