We all love a good vacation after spending our time working hard throughout the year. Every strong, independent woman deserves a vacation to enjoy her resting girl phase, even if it’s for one week. And that, my friends, is why I always treat myself to a little beach vacation every year. Wondering why it’s always a beach vacay? Well, there’s nothing more fun than laying at a beach in my bikini and sipping on a cocktail (Psst…I’m a water baby). 2024 was my year to visit Sri Lanka and test sunscreens. But this year, while packing for my beach vacation, I realised that every girl needs a beach vacation must-haves checklist to make packing for the holiday easier because who wants to stress over packing everything when you’re prepping to head out to enjoy some me time, or girl time with your girlfriends. Without further ado, dive into this list of must-haves that you need to throw in your suitcase before you take off for your holiday.
1. Every Body Needs A Bikini!
If you think you don’t have a bikini body, newsflash- the only thing you need for a bikini is a body. Stop fat-shaming yourself, girl. Don’t shy away from picking a s*xy bikini to flaunt your hot bod while you sunbathe. My personal favourite pick for a bikini is AllHers. I made sure to order my thin ruched, lace-up bikini set from the brand well in advance. There’s nothing more sultry than this tie-up bikini with beaded charms which lets you flaunt just a little bit of your underboob (in my case, I could show off that underboob tattoo that I’ve been hiding away). It’s padded so, you don’t have to worry about the girls making their debut on the beach. But make sure to pick a size small because swimsuits expand in water and you want a snug fit so, you don’t have a wardrobe malfunction.
2. Hello Beach Hat!
Myaraa by Namrata Lodha is the perfect brand to pick a floppy beach hat and have it customised to scream vacay mode! I was late to the party and couldn’t customise my hat but make sure you place your order in time and get your sassy beach mantra along with your favourite emojis on your favourite sustainable beach accessory. NGL but what are you gonna do on a beach without your glamorous hat? Stop thinking, and just get one already! I’m sure I don’t have remind you to pick your sunglasses to match with your hat!

Dekho, every vacation needs a happy ending and you can’t get it if you’re not getting your big O! In 2024, women don’t need men to achieve an orgasm and if you’re worried about your s*x toy getting caught during check-in (happened to me once), you might want to get your hands on Love Bug from Leezu’s. 5. That Oh-So-Stunning Dress
What if you find a hot date on a vacation? Girl, make sure you pack your sophisticated, power-dress to look like the queen that you are. And in case you don’t find a date, you still need to glam up for a night out with the girl. For this vacay, I found my perfect dress from Unrush. The Sela dress in royal blue colour just kept calling out to me. With padded shoulders, this comfortable yet chic dress was meant to go to Sri Lanka with me. I love my colourful socks so, my feet remain warm no matter what temperature the AC is set to. Do you really want to spend your day (and night) on a vacation carrying around a big handbag/beach bag? Of course, not. We all have those days when we want to leave the bag behind. Most of us forget to pack a jacket for our beach vacations but girl, you never know when you might feel the chills on your night at the beach or while travelling and what if you feel like covering up? So pack that denim jacket and don’t forget your shorts because what are we without our ripped denim shorts on a beach!
10. Who’s Gonna Pack Those Bags?
Girl, you remembered packing your beach bag but what your about little sling or your cute luxury handbag that you’ve been hiding away in the closet? Do you really want to be stuck with your beach bag when you hit the club at night because you left your handbag at home? My go-to pick for a classy handbag for my beach vacation is my Cavalli Class handbag, you can always invest in a hobo or a cross-body bag if that’s more your style.
11. BFFs For Emergencies
You may not be able to pack your bestie in your suitcase but make sure you have an emergency kit of medicines for that one odd bad day. ISTG, my emergency medicines might have just saved the lives of my girlfriend on our recent Sri Lanka trip. Remember to pack some meds for vomiting, motion sickness, allergies, upset stomach, fever and something for pain. Throw in some antibiotics as well for emergencies. NEVER EVER forget a first aid kit with some bandaids, antiseptic and crepe bandage. You never know when it might come in handy!
That’s all for the ICYMI checklist. But remember to carry bag tags for your luggage so, you don’t mix it up with someone else’s and end up getting stuck without clothes on your vacation. Feel free to pamper yourself with a stylish passport cover. I’m not going to remind you to pack sunscreen because who forgets that? But most importantly, remember to finish work and hand over the rest to your colleagues so, you don’t end up working on a vacation like my girlfriends did (and maybe put your phone on DND so you can miss all calls from your boss, sorry boss!).
