I hate to admit it, but honestly, it was only after Diljit Dosanjh’s Bollywood debut Udta Punjab that I started taking a keen interest in him. Before that, I hardly had any clue about who he is and what he does. In fact, I was so impressed by his performance in that movie, I found myself fangirling. So when Phillauri released, I made sure I watched that too, primarily for Dosanjh because really, I can’t explain why I would want to watch a story about a very pretty, but messed up ghost. Because although I am Punjabi, I haven’t really watched any of his regional movies.

When I started keeping myself updated on everything Diljit, he seemed like a guy who is humble, someone overwhelmed by his skyrocketing popularity. I thought it was cute, him fumbling like this. When he developed a crush on Kylie Jenner, the world knew. His mushy comments on her Instagram were all over the news. Still cute. Then, he even made a song mentioning both Kylie and Kareena. His crush on Hollywood actress Gal Gadot was also much-talked about. And now, his latest muse is Dua Lipa. On being asked if Diljit Dosanjh is still crushing on Gadot, he revealed in an interview with IANS, “She’s good. I am a fan. But now I am a fan of Dua Lipa.”

He has also been very vocal about his admiration for Kareena Kapoor, who he worked with in his Bollywood debut. In fact, he admitted that even today he gets nervous when having a conversation with Kareena. And amidst all this, what I am really thinking is, if Diljit is so uninhibited about his crushes, what will it take for him to speak about his wife? The boy is married and a lot of us know nothing about it! Apparently, his wife Sandeep Kaur and son live in the USA. Till date, he has never spoken about it, and the internet is flooded with queries on Diljit Dosanjh’s marital status. In fact, there were rumours that all’s not well between the couple. However, Diljit had dismissed the news saying, “Achi rumour hai(this is a great rumour). I don’t have a lot of money to stay in the news, so I’m happy these things are surfacing. I don’t speak about my personal life. You can say good or bad things about me, but I won’t tolerate if someone says anything about my family.”

I know to each his own, but would you be able to imagine Ranveer Singh not talking about his ladylove Deepika Padukone and crushing on several other female celebs? Or Arjun Kapoor being all mushy on someone else’s profile? Like, Diljit Dosanjh has showered attention on these celebs, but what we really want to see is him showing us what his real life romance looks like!
