Charlize Theron Was Offered The Part Of Wonder Woman’s Mother, And We Do Not Approve!

While Bollywood is getting real good at disappointing us with its gimmicks and helping us perfect the art of rolling our eyes (all at the same time), Hollywood seems to come off quite dignified. Dignified, that is till we came upon this piece of news. Turns out superstar Charlize Theron who outdid herself with her stellar performances in movies like Mad Max and Atomic Blonde, recently found herself to have crossed over what the film fraternity would call the ‘bridge’ to the old age.

Charlize recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, where she disclosed how the realisation followed after she was approached to play the mother of Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman for the hit superhero movie by DC.

The 43-year-old actress added, “And I was like, ‘I’m not familiar with it. What does Wonder Woman really do?’ And this person said, ‘No, it’s for Wonder Woman’s mom.’ “It was the defining moment when I crossed over. And I wasn’t fully aware of it.”

She told USA Today, “This is a great example of how Hollywood like slaps you in the face when you start ageing.” While we feel sorry that Hollywood is just as ageist as Bollywood and believe that Charlize could do so much better, we have to admit that had it been left up to us, we’d pick Gal Gadot too!

On the flip side, had this been Bollywood and Charlize been a ‘he’, she could go on as the male lead for at least another 10 years!
