18-Year-Old Boy Gets Inspired By Crime Show, Threatens To Leak Girls’ Morphed Images To Woo Her Sister

That television and cinema play a huge part in moulding the minds of impressionable youth is something we’ve been well aware of. But that there are people out there, who draw inspiration from the wrong end of it is what is rather worrisome. You see, whenever content is created, it is created with a slight yet strong possibility in mind that it will impact its viewers. However, little did we know that when the content in question is a crime thriller show, some might appreciate the wicked ways of the criminal more than the one catching him. As happened with an 18-year-old IT student, who tried to blackmail a woman after getting inspired by a crime show.

18-year-old BSc IT student in Surat, Gujarat was caught harassing a woman on social media, under the pretext of getting closer to her younger sister, after getting influenced by a television crime show. Turns out, the guy had had a crush on a girl since his school days, and in a way to woo her, he came up with an inspired plan to harass the older sister, hoping the younger sister would come to him for help.

The way he tried to pull it off was by created three fake Instagram accounts, using them to send morphed photographs of Kinjal (name has been changed to protect identities), the elder sister of his schoolmate Karishma (name has been changed to protect identities) to threaten her and scare her into panic.

He communicated through the fake accounts that Kinjal must chat with him, else he would circulate those morphed and compromising pictures across the internet with false information. The 18-year-old pervert was hoping to be approached by the sisters for help, where he thought he might play the knight in shining armour, rescuing the girls and winning Karishma’s heart in the process. We don’t know what crime show he was watching, but please, take away his TV.

Except, the girls decided to go to the police and file a complaint with them instead, tracking down the guy who actually came up with the idea of blackmailing the girls with such foul means. Upon investigation and questioning, he revealed, “Aghera was with Karishma in school but they are currently studying at different colleges. He wanted that the girl continue the friendship with him and was also considering marrying her for which he planned the harassment,” as quoted by an officer.

It’s been pretty common that guys harass women they want to marry like in Bollywood, but we are glad that women can finally walk up to seek the help of the authorities for catching such criminals, who think they can get away with anything. Such men, must be ashamed of their actions, to think they can strong arm women into submission.
