Bhushan Kumar, MD Of T-Series Accused Of Rape, FIR Registered.

#MeToo movement caused quite a stir across the globe as several muffled voices were heard. Many sexual offenders who got away without being shamed for their acts came under the radar. Now some of it may have been untrue, as several people do argue but mostly, this movement gave women the courage to speak up. Recently, a 30-year-old woman registered an FIR against Bhushan Kumar, the managing director of T-Series at the D N Nagar police station in Andheri West, Mumbai.

She alleged that Bhushan Kumar raped her under the pretext of offering her a job in the company. She said he had been sexually assaulting her from 2017 until last year and had threatened her with harm against revealing anything about the same.

The complaint against Bhushan Kumar is registered under Sections 376 (rape), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.

In 2018, during the #MeToo movement there were allegations against Bhushan Kumar. A woman had taken to Twitter to claim that he had called her to a bungalow and offered her a three-film deal. She wrote that in return he demanded sexual favours. When she refused, he allegedly dropped her from the film.

However, Bhushan Kumar had released a statement denying the whole thing and expressing his anguish towards the allegations. Honestly, it’s just his word against hers and we will probably never find out the truth.
