Women’s IPL Gets A Thumbs Up By The BCCI And Here’s What We Know About This Much-Awaited Announcement

As it is said in India, cricket is not just a game, it is an emotion. None of us are unaware of the cricket fever in our country. It would not be wrong to say that the most die-hard fans of cricket reside in our country. From World Cups to T20s and IPLs, the popularity of cricket here is unmatchable. In recent years, women’s cricket is also being given due acknowledgment. And the change is quite visible because women’s cricket in India is getting the recognition they deserve, and a commendable decision in this regard has been finally taken by the Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) of approving the Indian Premier League (IPL) for women!

This much-awaited decision was taken during the Annual General Meeting of the BCCI, which took place on Tuesday, October 18. This approval was one, that was being awaited by the cricket fans and finally, the day is here when it has been officially declared. IPL is one of the most loved cricket formats in India and the viewers,  will now get to witness superb women cricketers on the ground. Well, it is definitely going to be a spectacular series of matches. Although the details of the women’s IPL are yet to be announced, some reports say that it will be played with five teams, and is most likely to be scheduled in March 2023. Furthermore, while we wait for the final schedule of the matches, it has been speculated that there will be a total of 22 matches in the first season of women’s IPL.
