Australian Racer Renee Garcia Quit Racing To Become A Porn Star Because It Pays More. She Loves It
Ray Bradbury once said, “Love what you do and do what you love”. If you are going to be doing something for 9-10 hours a day, 5 days a week, you better love it. That was my philosophy when I picked my career and I was determined to get it right the first time around. Though it’s not uncommon for people to shift careers and I admire those people because I can imagine how hard it must be to start from scratch. But hey, at the end of the day all that matters is that you enjoy what you are doing.
Over the years, I have heard of a lot of people who have jumped careers and all of them are delighted they took the step. Though every once in a while I come across a career shift that leaves me all surprised and today I want to tell you about one such shift.
Former Australian racer Reene Garcia has left the racing industry to become a porn star. Yep, you read that right she left racing to star in adult videos online. When I read this the first thought that popped in my head is, “how cool is this?”.

Renee, who was Australia’s first ever full-time female Supercars driver, claimed she was struggling to make ends meet while being a part of the motorsports industry. Her financial situation was the reason that she decided to make this drastic shift into the porn industry. And believe it or not, in a recent interview she admitted that it was. “the best thing I have done in my whole life.”
The best part about her entire jump is that her family is extremely supportive of this new career choice. In the interview, she said, “Believe it or not my Dad knows it and supports it,” she said. “I think you could say my Dad is actually proud because of the financial position I am in and what I have been able to do with the site. You look at what I have achieved not what I am doing, it has been a success.”
I can’t help but wonder how my parents would react if I ever told them that I am quitting my job to become a porn star. I think they would go all emotional blackmail on my ass (the go-to move for desi parents) and then tell me that no one would ever marry me. But you know what, it’s too hard to care about that when you are earning $25,000 (approximately Rs 18,90,137) a week. Oh yeah, that is how much Renee earns now by doing porn.
In the interview, Renee said “It has put me in a financial position I could never have dreamed of and I really enjoy it,” adding, “I am fine with whatever they want to call me. I am earning good money and I am comfortable with where I am at”.

Talking about her racing career she says that the lack of funding was the final nail in the coffin. In her new profession, she has to take pictures of herself and put it on the internet. Renee wants people to focus on what she has achieved in such a short period of time rather than what she does.
She said, “I wasn’t good at racing, I stopped racing, it’s finished, it’s done… it’s crazy that people think I can’t do what I do now because of what I did before. I’m still Renee, I still have a life, I still have another business, I still have a job. For me as a person, nothing’s changed.”
This shift might not be conventional but Renee is very smart to have gotten out of something that wasn’t working and into something she feels comfortable and happy doing. Oh, she also sells pornographic merchandise which I found quite interesting. It includes air freshners to hang in your car that have closeups of her breasts and butt. Yeah, it’s pretty dramatic.
