Anushka Sharma Is Prioritising Motherhood; Won’t Take Up Acting Projects Till Mid-2022
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli became parents to an adorable baby girl, Vamika, earlier this year. While Virat returned to work, Anushka has decided to extend her maternal leave. According to reports, the actress who was last seen in Zero alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in 2018, isn’t ready to start shooting anytime soon.
While Anushka Sharma did produce last year’s releases, Pataal Lok and Bulbbul, she hasn’t acted in any movies for three years now and doesn’t plan on it until mid-2022.
A source close to the actress has told PeepingMoon, “Anushka’s present priority is her newborn baby. She doesn’t want to take any kind of risk by stepping out for shoots at a time when everything is so uncertain. Furthermore, scientists, doctors, and healthcare specialists have predicted a possible third wave in India around October which is projected to affect children and would largely target Maharashtra. Anushka is taking all the safety protocols and not stepping out at all. She has instructed her team to not plan any shootings for this year.”

It’s a wise move to not take any risks as several actors and crews tested positive in recent times. However, while she has decided to not take up any acting projects right now, her production company Clean Slate Filmz is on in full swing. She has two Netflix projects including Mai and Qala. Her production house is also producing Navdeep Singh’s Amazon Prime Video project starring Aditya Roy Kapur. Anushka Sharma is also working on Paatal Lok Season 2 and a few other projects.
Meanwhile, Anushka has taken on acting projects too but the shoot won’t start until next year. One is a biopic based on former captain of the Indian National Women’s Cricket team Jhulan Goswami and there are two others, including one by YRF.

Anushka Sharma may have taken a break from acting but she is definitely working as a producer, which probably feels safer to her, in comparison. Virat and Anushka are a power couple – both of them are on top of their professions and yet, always prioritise their family. We bet they make adorable parents! Anushka will be such a role model for Vamika!
