South Actress Amala Paul Files Defamation Case Against Ex Boyfriend For Leaking Private Photos, Fake Marriage Claims
It is often advised to people in love (or freshly fallen out of it), that whatever happens between them—the good, the bad or the ugly—is best kept private. Whether you’re trying to make your love grow or make it go, airing your dirty laundry in public is never a wise decision. Especially in the time and age of social media, where certain things, if revealed, can be bookmarked forever. A concern that recently arose for South Indian actress, Amala Paul, who is seeking to file a defamation case against her ex-boyfriend Bhavninder Singh. He leaked their private pictures with false news.
Breakups are tough, more so when you imagined spending your life together with that person and came so close to considering tying the knot with them. And while splitting ways at that point in the relationship is bound to hurt, nothing justifies the actions of a jilted lover who tries to go behind their partner’s back to spread false rumours and share private pictures on social media. Case in point—Mumbai-based singer, Bhavninder Singh, who apparently circulated private pictures of him and Amala, using them to misdirect the narrative to one where people would assume they were married.
Singh deleted the pictures soon after they were posted. However, even though he tried to undo his actions, it was too late. The pictures had already started making the rounds on social media. By then, it was also being reported that even though the two had gotten married, neither of them confirmed or denied the rumour. At that time, Amala spoke on the matter and said, “My wedding has some more time to happen. I am currently busy with films. Once they are done, I will announce about my wedding. I spoke about my love. So I will speak about my wedding too. So till then, don’t spread rumours on my weddings. I will announce it when the time comes.”

However, it is now that the actress has chosen to move to the Madras HC to file a defamation suit against her ex-boyfriend Bhavninder Singh for putting pictures out on social media that were private and misleading. Stating how the pictures that were clicked for professional use were being used out of context and without consent, the justice allowed Amala to go ahead and file a civil suit against Bhavninder.
Honestly, we are glad that Amala Paul chose to go to the authorities and file a defamation case than simply forgiving the guy for taking it too far ahead. Men like these feel entitled to take extreme measures when they don’t see their love being returned. And it is imperative for them to realise that they can’t get away with just anything.
