After Allegations Of Abuse, Poonam Pandey Claims She Has ‘Saved’ Her Marriage. It Sets The Wrong Example

Being in love is a beautiful feeling. The feeling that someone is there for you. The feeling of being completely yourself with someone. The idea of love for most is more fascinating than love itself. And why not? Movies across the globe have romanticized love and everyone wants to get in on it. The love that we see, hear, or talk about is always unconditional, but is that the right way to look at it? Poonam Pandey has something to say about it. Should love not have boundaries? Should self-love not precede romantic love? Is love so blinding that you overlook all the wrongs and give your lover another chance?

Recently, Poonam Pandey spoke about how she has sorted her issues with her husband and she has successfully saved her marriage. She said, “We are sorted. I saved my marriage. Agar kisi se pyar kia hai toh aap itni jaldi give up kaise kar sakte ho (if you love someone, then how can you give up so soon)? I understand problems hoti hain but chance banta hai, if you have loved someone (I agree problems can occur, but one chance must be given).”

When she first got married and was on her honeymoon, she filed a complaint against her husband Sam Bombay in Goa. In her complaint, she claimed that he had assaulted, threatened, and molested her. Sam was arrested under Section 323, 504, 354, and 506(ii) of the Indian Penal Code. It was a day later that he was released on bail. During that time, Poonam had spoken to multiple platforms and told them her plans of breaking her marriage.

Poonam and Sam Bombay got hitched on 1st September 2020. And after all the chaos that they went through, Poonam says that she is living a happy life with Sam and that she is happy with him. She also spoke about how she has learnt a lot about herself after her marriage: “Khaane mein kum namak dalti hu (I put less salt in my food). I am going to open a YouTube channel. My cooking is at another level. Taj fail hai. I have a beautiful bungalow in Bandra and I cook very well. My husband is a chef and I have learnt a lot from him.”

Hauterfly’s Take

We don’t know what Poonam Pandey is trying to say but domestic violence has claimed far too many victims (read about this horrific incident in Kerala here) and we do not think it’s about giving your lover another chance. If the allegations of violence are indeed true, Poonam Pandey needs to set and example and call her husband out. There is nothing to save in a marriage where there is violence involved.
