Actress Shikha Malhotra Volunteers As A Nurse To Serve In These Tough Times Of The Covid-19 Pandemic. What A Fabulous Way To Contribute

I say this to whoever has been asking me how this quarantine is going, that it has brought out the worst in me. And I say this not in a sense that I have suddenly become a bad person, but just a lazy and unproductive one. But unlike me and a lot others, this quarantine that has brought the world to its knees, has also brought out the best in people, and those are the ones we need to look up to. Just like actress Shikha Malhotra, who recently was seen volunteering to become a nurse to serve during the times of Covid- 19.

Last seen in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan, the young actress is our latest motivation in these tough times, for Shikha Malhotra decided to go the extra mile in helping the country fight its battle against this deadly virus.

With an degree and basic knowledge of nursing, Shikha is a graduate in nursing from Delhi’s Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, Shikha said, “I decided to help COVID-19 patients as I have the tool to help them,” and with the number of cases rising by the day, we were only glad that more people were joining in the medical staff to help during such a crisis.

Taking to her own Instagram handle, the actress has been putting up several posts with informed captions such as,
“#lockdownday1 For those who don’t know that I am a #Registered #BscHonoursNurse from Vardhaman Mahavir Medical & #SafdarjungHospital Spending my 5 years…so sharing a glance of my working hours in the hospital. She also put up another post talking about the decision to shift from an actress to a nurse in this need of the hour and wrote, “Proud to join #onduty#lockdownday2 #nurse #covıd19. Hindu Hriday Samrat Bala Saheb thakrey #hospital #isolationward from tomorrow onwards 27/03/20. Lot of people working day and night to keep the nation safe”

And as the cases infected with this virus keeps increasing, crossing the 1000 mark yesterday, we can only thank the medical staff, the doctors and the nurses for their relentless and fearless duty towards protecting the nation from coronavirus. Prime Minister Modi too, in the same vein regarded the nurses all over India and said, “I salute every nurse today. You all work with incomparable dedication. This is a coincidence that the year 2020 is being observed as the International Year of Nurses and Midwives by the whole world.”

We couldn’t have more respect for Shikha Malhotra and all the other nurses and doctors, for their incredible will to help!
