6 Sugar-Free Dessert Recipes For Christmas!

6 Sugar-Free Dessert Recipes For Christmas!

Who doesn’t want to enjoy Christmas with some yummy baked goods? I know I do, but I also know I’m trying not to get carried away this party season. Sugar, for me, is the number one culprit.

It’s bad for health when had in excess, it’s highly addictive, and it also leads to major weight gain. So, why not go sugar free? And no, I don’t mean the artificial sweetener kind.

Celebrities and health gurus have been touting the benefits of natural sugars that work just as well, when it comes to baking. So, we’ve found baking recipes that use natural ingredients to sweeten your desserts. Here’s to a healthier start to next year!

1. Christmas Cookies

This option uses natural coconut sugar, and 100% pure maple syrup. It also has zero butter and no gluten, but if you’d like to add butter and regular flour, that’s absolutely okay! You can indulge a little, especially if you’re not allergic to gluten.

2. Forest Fruit Cake

‘Tis the season of berries, so why not use some in cake? This can be made with fruits of your choice, so opt for seasonal berries because seasonal eating is fresh! This cake uses stevia as sweetener, which is now available on Amazon and other retail markets. It’s a plant-based sweetener that is way healthier than sugar! Plus, this recipe is gluten free, as well! So, zero maida.

3. 5-Minute Cookies!

Seriously, I have no words. All you need for this are 3 ingredients. The chocolate chips may contain sugar, but there’s no added sugar in this recipe. A little chocolate chip here and there is always a good thing, right? The two recipes that follow do contain more sugar, but you can always use a replacement.

4. Skinny Carrot Cake

This recipe isn’t gluten free, but it’s a “skinny” carrot cake. It’s got no sugar or butter! So carrot cake fans, it’s time to rejoice! Enjoy a version that is soft, yummy, and perfect, without being too high on calories.

5. Gingerbread Cookies!

Christmas isn’t complete without gingerbread cookies, so get baking! Here’s a recipe that uses minimal sugar and gives you alternatives to completely cut out the sugar.

6. Chocolate Cake

How about plain old chocolate cake? Who doesn’t crave that? If you do, then try this recipe. It cuts out sugar and replaces it with jaggery, something that’s easily available in the house.
