5 Thoughts I Had While Watching Dil Bechara’s Title Track. Mainly Ki, This Song Is A Fabulous Tribute

I arrived early at the Youtube premiere for Dil Bechara‘s title track release. I wanted to be one of the first few people to watch. Well, me and about 105,000 other people because that’s how many people were watching it when it went live. In these times, these are the kind of thrills we live for. It was a shared experience – the launch of this song which is all charm and all Sushant Singh Rajput. And I was also watching the comments as I waited for the song to play. And it was filled with ‘CBI’, a demand being made by angry netizens to investigate the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

Now, before I go ahead, I just want to say, I am not a Sushant Singh Rajput fan. Yeah, I buried this in the second paragraph because it’s almost blasphemous to say this. That being said, the title song, which mainly has Sushant Singh crooning into a crowd of happy college students, is the perfect way to showcase everything this star was.

So, here are my thoughts on the title track of Dil Bechara. You can watch the song here. You should because otherwise you will have no context.

Yay, They Made Him Dance

While SSR wasn’t always known for his dancing skills, a couple of songs did highlight this talent of his. Like Mein Tera Boyfriend. In this song also, he shows off his moves and you’ve to admit, it’s fun to watch. I mean, who doesn’t want to be serenaded by a very cute boy in a room full of people?

Oh God, He Cute

You’ve to admit, even if you aren’t a fan like me, that the boy had oodles of charm. His rakish smile, his charm is peppered quite generously through this video which makes you stick around even if the song doesn’t exactly tug at your heart strings.

Do People Carry Those Things?

Look, I am always willing to suspend disbelief, especially when it comes to Hindi movies. But genuine koschan, do people just walk into theatres with the letters that make up the word ‘love’? Or with hands that look like Facebook likes? I know these were pre-Covid 19 times and from the days of yore (a fabulous FRIENDS reference if you get it) and times were different then but my hands have always been filled with popcorn and a drink.

Is He Wearing A Sleeveless Jersey?

I don’t mean to be a prude but I don’t particularly like sleeveless clothes on men. But boy, SSR has some fabulously flawless armpits. And at this point when I have not been to a salon in over 4 months, this comment about his pits might be coming from a place of jealousy, more than anything else.

The Lyrics!

Essentially the song talks about how the heart is troubled over being friend-zoned over and over again. Which is all of us. All of us.
