8 Book-To-Movie Adaptations That Are Going To Be Epic

2017 is going to be one amazing year for all you movie buffs out there, and while we cannot wait for these movies to release, there are a few that are inspired by our fave books. Yes, the constant battle of what is better — the storyline of the book or the plot of the movie — is going to get a lot more interesting. It will be fun to watch some of the best works of literature come alive on the silver screen. And if you haven’t read the books, do get your hands them before the film releases, as only then you will be able to judge the winner.

PS: Fifty Shades Darker is not the only movie releasing this year that is based on a book.

 

1. Before I Fall (March 3)

Book: Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

Story: A mystery that revolves around Samantha Kensington reliving the last day of her life again and again. Shocked, but with the sudden realisation of a power that can change things over, she decides to make the most out of the time she has left.

2. The Zookeeper’s Wife (March 31)

Book: The Zookeeper’s Wife by Diane Ackerman

Story: Set in 1939, it is the story of Antonina Zabinski and her husband, Dr. Jan Zabinski, who run the Warsaw zoo in Poland. When the Nazis invade, they save hundreds of people from the ghettos by hiding them in their zoo.

3. Wonder (April 7)

Book: Wonder by R.J. Palacio

Story: The story of a 5th grade boy with a facial difference, and the difficulties he faces to live a normal life. Meet August Pullman in this emotional ride — keep the tissues handy!

Starring: Owen Wilson, Julia Roberts, Jacob Tremblay

 

4. The Lost City Of Z (April 21)

Book: The Lost City Of Z by David Grann

Story: Journalist David Grann ventures into the amazon jungle to find the mystery that surrounds The Lost City Of Z, as termed by legendary Britisher explorer, Percy Fawcett. Percy embarked on a journey in the exact same jungle in 1925 but never returned. Watch as the journalist retraces his steps to find why and how he disappeared.

5. The Circle (April 28)

Book: The Circle by Dave Eggers

Story: The Circle is an internet company that basically connects everything with social media. It is the story of how a woman’s ambitions clashes with the secrets of the society. It shows the blurring lines of privacy and strives to find out whether or not democracy is still alive. Also, Emma Watson and Tom Hanks.

Story: The story of survival and romance finds 2 people who have survived a plane crash on a random mountain, trying to trust each other to stay alive.

8. Murder On The Orient Express (November 22)

Book: Murder On The Orient Express by Agatha Christie

Story: Hercule Poirot is back to investigate and solve a murder mystery. When Orient Express stops in the dead of the night and a gentleman is stabbed a hundred times, Poirot has to find the culprit. It is also a remake of a 1974 movie with the same name.
